Why Trust Us
Every code is checked, ranked, and kept honest
Most coupon sites bury you in codes that expired months ago. We do the opposite: we confirm codes are working, show you when each was last checked, and put the ones most likely to work right at the top.
How we check every code
A code doesn't earn a spot on SpendMeNot just by existing. Each one is measured against three things we keep checking over time:
Live working status
Whether the code is confirmed working right now — not just when it was first found.
Success history
How often the code has actually worked at checkout for real shoppers over time.
Last-checked date
Shown on every code, so you can see for yourself how fresh the verification is.
Codes that stop working are removed automatically. We would rather list a handful of codes that work than a long wall of expired junk.
How we rank what you see
The order isn't random and it isn't alphabetical — it's built around one question: which code is most likely to work for you right now?
Confirmed-working codes, front and center. The very top of each store page is reserved for codes we’ve verified are working right now.
Additional verified codes worth your attention, just below the top pick.
Everything else, ordered by how reliably it has worked and how recently it was checked.
Sitewide sales and offers that don’t need a code, plus lower-priority items, listed last.
Machines do the heavy lifting of checking codes around the clock, but a real person reviews the top picks before they lead a page.
How we stay free
When you use a code or deal and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission from the retailer — at no extra cost to you. That commission is what keeps SpendMeNot completely free, with no sign-ups and no email walls. And to be clear: it never changes our ranking. Codes are ordered by how well they actually work, never by how much a store pays us.
Common questions
How does SpendMeNot check whether a coupon works?
Every code we list carries three live signals: its current working status, a history of how often it has actually succeeded at checkout, and the date it was last confirmed working. Codes that stop working are removed automatically — we would rather show you fewer codes than waste your time on dead ones.
What does the "Verified" badge mean?
A Verified badge means the code has been confirmed working recently, not just added to a list. The top of each store page — Editor’s Choice — is reserved for these confirmed-working codes, so the first thing you see is the code most likely to work.
Why do some codes still fail even though they are verified?
Retailers can change or pull an offer at any moment, and some codes are limited to first-time customers, specific regions, or minimum spends. A verified code was confirmed working recently, but no coupon site can guarantee a live retailer promotion 100% of the time. If a code fails, tell us and we’ll re-check it.
Does SpendMeNot make money, and does it affect ranking?
Yes — when you use a link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission from the retailer at no extra cost to you. That is how we stay free. It does not change how we rank coupons: codes are ordered by how well they actually work, never by how much a retailer pays.
Found a code that didn't work?
Tell us and we'll re-check it. Keeping the list honest is a team effort — yours included.
